fucker

fucker
Rarely thought of as meaning ‘one who fornicates’ when used as a vocative: the word merely expresses extreme contempt. It is considered to be extremely coarse and would be avoided in polite society. ‘All right, fucker, I’m asking questions and you’re allowed no wrong answers,’ says an American policeman to a man who a moment ago was threatening him with a gun in The Beethoven Conspiracy, by Thomas Hauser. An Indecent Obsession, by Colleen McCullough, has one man saying to another: ‘Do you know who I’m talking about, you barmy fucker?’
